Reggiana is looking for the perfect coach for the 2023-2024 season. Attilio Tesser is in pole position for the Reggiana bench. The 67-year-old coach from Montebelluna has already been promoted to Serie B with Novara, Cremonese, Pordenone, and Modena. An experienced coach who has already won the Serie C championship and makes a proactive football, possibly with two very 'offensive' wingers and a central striker to make a 'link'. This is the profile of the future coach of Reggiana, who, having abandoned the hypothesis of a return of Dionigi, has directed his attention to other shores. For the characteristics that we have just mentioned, the name that currently intrigues Doriano Tosi the most is that of Attilio Tesser, the 'recordman' of promotions from Serie C to B: four, with the same number of teams, and all at the first attempt. This is what his curriculum tells us, built by winning first with Novara (2010), then with Cremonese (2017) to finish with Pordenone (2019) and Modena (2022). The granata club does not have a hurry to close and it is possible that the white smoke arrives only next week, but at the moment in pole position there is him. Born in Montebelluna on June 10, 1958, Tesser is a sort of Antonio Conte of Serie C, because like the former white midfielder he has been able to win in very different environments (Juventus, Inter and Napoli) demonstrating a flexibility and an ability to adapt outside the common. The tactical principles are therefore 'relative', but he usually prefers a four-man defense with a three-man midfield, but also at Modena he has often changed the game in progress, passing to a five-man defense without any problems. The last three seasons he has spent at Triestina, in a situation that was not easy and that has also conditioned the sporting results. In the 2023-2024 season he was fired in February after 24 games with the team third in the standings, only to be recalled in November of the following season with the team that had meanwhile plummeted to last place. Despite a 5-point penalty, he manages to bring Triestina to the playoffs with Caldiero, obtaining salvation. A small but great achievement that does not earn him a recall, but that does not preclude an 'additional call' from the alabardato club, last in the standings and with 23 points of penalty. After eight games, however, he resolves the contract and from January 21 he is effectively free from any commitment. In category, he can therefore be considered an absolute guarantee and a solid point from which to start. The weekend will be decisive to understand if the club and Tesser, who would accept with enthusiasm, will find the 'right fit'.
